Well,where do I begin?My Boyland family starts,(or is that ends?),with my father's mother,Minnie Boyland,born 1892 in Teforest,South Wales,who married my grandfather,Reginald Edwin Cripps born 1900 in Treharris,South Wales-The villages of Treharris and Teforest are only a few miles apart.This was her second marriage.Her first was to John Morgan in 1916.
Minnie Boyland and Reginald Edwin Cripps had the following children.------
Reginald Leonard Cripps born 1927 Caerphilly Glamorganshire.
Female living relative.
Joan Georgina Crips born 1931 Glamorganshire.
Raymond James Cripps Glamorganshire

Minnie Boyland's ancestors were----
William Boyland 1753 Stockland,Devon.
James Boyland 1775 Stockland,Devon.
Robert Boyland 1807 Stockland,Devon.
Robert Page Boyland 1866 Stockland,Devon. died Pontpridd Wales.He was married in 1887 Honiton,Devon.to Georgina Pearce1869,Upottery,Devon.died 1904 in Pontpridd Wales.
Robert Page Boyland and Georgina Pearce were parents of Minnie Boyland.
Minnie had the following siblings------
Edith Boyland 1888 Stockland,Devon.
Robert Boyland 1890 Hemyock,Devon.
Bessie Boyland 1891 Hemyock,Devon.
I never knew my grandmother,Minnie Boyland,and know little of her.She died before I was born.
I know that she died a very painful death from cancer and suffered much.I also know that her death had a profound effect on my father,Reginald Leonard Cripps 1927.
In winter,my father would go to the moat at Caerphilly Castle to and smash it's iced waters.
He would then return home with the broken ice for his Mother,to help cool her down when she was burning up from her fever brought on by the cancer.

After her death,my father and his siblings were brought up by his father,and his elder half sister
Maggie,daughter of Minnie Boyland and John Morgan.
My father married my mother,Patricia Maisey Everett 1930,in 1951.Both my parents died a long tome ago.Fortunately,I have many wonderful memories of them both.
My father was one of twins,his twin sister still lives and recently celebrated her 80th birthday.

The Cripps/Boyland connection is not as straightforward as it first seems.
Robert Page Boyland's wife Georgina Pearce,married Henry Tucker senior after Robert's death.
My father's grandmother,Harriet Cripps(nee Williams) married Henry Tucker junior after the death of her husband,Reginald Edwin Cripps.
Harriet Cripps(nee Williams)brother,Andrew Williams,married Edith Rose Boyland.

Since recieving the above information from Tim Read,I have researched a little further and with the help of fellow researchers at Rootschat and others,coupled with some detail from Parish Registers as given to me by my cousin Harry Boyland (see Harry's research page) I have put a few things together which I believe looks correct,but if anyone cares to disagree with my findings,please contact me and between us perhaps we can come up with something different?
From Parish Registers at Preston and Sutton Poyntz Dorset.
Thomas Boyland born about 1725 married Mary Wallis on 8th June 1748.(Note- Could this in any way fit in with the Stockland Thomas born 1724?) Parents to Mary were Richard and Ann Wallis. Children to Thomas and Mary were--THOMAS BOYLAND July 7th 1754.--MARY BOYLANDApril 10th 1757,She died March 30th 1759 AGED TWO YEARS.-- RICHARD BOYLAND September 14TH 1760. He died 16th July 1815 at Whitchurch Canonicorum Doset,Church of St.Candida and Holy Cross.--JAMES BOYLAND October 23rd 1763--MARY BOYLAND April 19TH 1767. Note- There is a Thomas Boyland,buried 20th August 1797,unsure if this is the father or the son.
Richard Boyland married Ann Gerard (born 22nd December 1764) at Whitchurch Canonicorum on 12th April 1784 children found so far were THOMAS BOYLAND 29th May 1785 who married SARAH SYMONDS born 1787 at Corscombe Dorset. (her parents were WILLIAM SYMONDS and Martha,from Upwey,Dorset. Thomas and Sarah married on 12th February 1810. Children were-FRANCES BOYLAND 29th August 1812--RICHARD BOYLAND 3rd April 1814.-ANN SYMONDS BOYLAND 25th December 1821,at Chickerell Dorset.--JOHN BOYLAND 30th December 1827.--WILLIAM BOYLAND 15th August 1830.--THOMAS BOYLAND 13th October 1832 he died 1833. There is also an ANN BOYLAND Baptised 27th May 1798 to Thomas and Sarah,but the dates seem to be wrong?

Well, where to start??
My name would be a good one, i guess...I'm Pauline Russell, born a Hearring
courtesy of my father. Re-named a Russell after my mother re-married. But
has since divorced.
I'm 29, and it's hitting home slowly that i'll be 30 next year and i really
should concentrate on trying to fill those gaps in my tree!
Which leads me on to Ron....he has helped me no end, thank you Ron, i truly
appreciate all you've done to help! I'm getting there slowly, i know i've
taken a bit of a break lately, but i will get motivated again.
Ok, back to it....I am the daughter of Ann Russell, nee Boyland. Her parents
are Henry and Lillian Boyland. She has two brothers, David and John. John
has six children of his own so i also have many cousins and they have
children....and it goes on.
I have a whole sister, Chris and several half brothers and sisters on both
my mothers and my fathers side. And they have children too. That's where it
gets really complicated....i think you'll agree!
I grew up in Bridgwater, the home of the famous Carnival, and the not so
famous (now closed) Cellophane plant, which helped towards the local and not
so local economy for many years. My grandad worked there some time ago, too,
i believe.
Most of my family live in or near the Bridgwater area to this day, although
some have moved away, myself included. I'm in North Dorset, near
Shaftesbury, the place of the Hovis ads, you may recall. I live with my
partner, Jamie and my four year old son, Morgan.
My nan and Grandad were married in Enmore, Somerset. I believe that at some
point, my grandad lived in a place called 'Watery Bottom' around this area.
Yes, it really is a place!
My great-grandparents on my grandads side were Walter Boyland b1898 and
Grace Boobyer b1903. On my nans side, my great-grandparents were Henry
Wiltshire b1902 and Beatrice Jenkins b1905. Sadly, i never got to know any
of them as they passed away either before i was born or when i was very
young. I have managed to trace all the way back to 1840 on the Boyland side
and earlier still on my nans side. (with much help, of course!)
In both my tree and Rons, we have a Hannah Spiller b1868 and Henry Boyland
b1867 who were married.
According to my calculations, they are my great-great-grandparents on my
grandads (Boyland) side. Not entirely sure of the relative connection with
Ron as yet, but i am sure there is one, we just have to find the missing
pieces of the huge puzzle that is ancestry!
