Lytchett Maltravers
and
Lytchett Minster
Following on from research carried out by cousin Harry Boyland during the 1960's,I have now discovered quite a lot more detail taken from Parish Register entries for Lytchett Maltravers and Lytchett Minster,these two villages are only about one mile apart,and still between the area's I have mentioned before on this site,ie these two villages are to be found off the A350 at Sturminster Marshall up through Dorchester and on to Honiton.The names I have,are put into family units,trying to find positive links is difficult,but feel convinced that all should fit somewhere within the "BOYLAND" family if only that somewhere can be found.
Anyone looking through this information might be able to provide some answers or even find any mistakes I have made??If so don't hesitate,let me know and will do my best to correct any errors.
John Boyland and Mary Boyland had five children,
John born 5th January 1681,Thomas born 20th January 1684
Julian born 14th February 1687,Mary born 8th April 1690 and Benjamin born 7th February 1692.
These children are given as sons and daughters of another John Boyland (no birth date)nor a wifes name found.
Elizabeth, born 30th July 1715,Mary, born 22nd February 1716, John,born 12th March 1716 (twin to Mary maybe?) Ann, 22nd February 1719 and Thomas, born 17th July 1723.
William Boyland married Mary Coward 18th August 1757, children were--
William,born 29th February 1760, Mary, born 6th June 1762, Thomas, born 19th February 1764,
Benjamin,born 19th February 1772, and John, born 23rd October 1769.
Benjamin Boyland,married Mary Brewer 30th December 1779,
children--- John born 28th January 1781 another John,born 9th May 1783 .
William Boyland married Kettura Best 26th November 1781.
Children were---- Mary,born 9th March 1783, William,born 23rd July 1784, Henry,born 23rd July
1786. Elizabeth, born 24th February 1788, Kettura,born 4th April 1790 and Joshua,born 23rd December 1792.
Benjamin Boyland married Sarah Barnes 7th February 1720. children were----
Sarah,born 25th September 1721, Susanna,born 18th December 1724, Sarah, born 16th January 1727 and Benjamin,born 2nd January 1731.
Benjamin Boyland married Mary Reckess 8th November 1739. children were---
Sarah, 12th October 1740, Benjamin,born 4th June 1744 died 7th September 1823 aged 79 years.
There are many other births and marriages which at this point I have been unable to seperate into family groups,once I am able to do this,they too will be added on these pages.
Earlier on here I asked to be informed of errors that fellow researchers may well find,so please,come forward and we can put the records straight.
I must say here that because of some dates of birth shown as too obviously similar,then this could be that what I have is possible Births mixed with Baptisms/Christenings????.
